Nice pedal bike for winter indoor biking

This bike has nice features and is quite quiet. Pedal bikes have come a long way from the old ones that just go around and around and that’s all. I like the time and distance read-outs. I know the time is accurate as I checked against my timer. Can’t verify the distance or the calorie count. For someone living in the north country like me this is a good alternative when it’s cold and icy out. The tension goes from really easy to moderately heavy. If you start with the hardest tension it seems light but after a few minutes not so much. All in all it’s really a nice little fake bike. It was easy to put together except the stirrups. I couldn’t get them on but it works fine without them, in fact probably less of a hassle. I like it and can see myself taking advantage of it in the winter on days I’m sick of aerobics.

    Great in the beginning

Nice, smooth, sturdy, and quiet, initially. Barely had it a month and now the left side “clunks” when peddling – using it 1-1.5 hrs a day 5 days a week. On carpet and not moved. Disappointed since I thought it was a little expensive.

very quiet but hard to assemble

This is a great product, but the assembly is hard. The tools provided did not work, and the pedals were hard to install. Other than that, it is quiet, does not slip around on floor because it is heavy and good for circulation.

Great for a Light Work Out!

I went by the reviews before I purchased this product. Also my mom had purchased this same brand name product but hers was a bit more money. This product is great for someone trying to get their R.O.M. (Range of Motion.) back intact. And you would think by the lever that you can up the tension but there is no stronger tension on it. It feels like the same level from 1 to 10. No change and that is disappointing. Though I’ll still use it as it’s easy to use and I can use it during the winter months here when I can’t go out to walk.

Perfect for the elderly or surgical rehab!

I got this for my 91 year-old mother. She is a snowbird and lives in another state yet when she finally got to Arizona after the pandemic I could see how she was slipping with her flexibility. I told her if she didn’t start exercising she would end up in a wheelchair! I know that may sound cruel but I had to give her a visual and a memory of her great-aunt. We put the bicycle by the wall in her kitchen and then placed a chair alongside the wall in front of the pedals. I wanted it out of the way so she wouldn’t accidentally trip over it. She was amazed at how much it helps give her strength in her legs. I am also on her to do squats in her dining room chair that has arms. These are very simple exercises for someone in their 90’s and I highly highly recommend this to keep their body moving! In fact I just may put a post on my Facebook page regarding this as there are many people who have 90 year olds in their life! My fear was with weak legs she may stumble and fall and hit her head. I did not want that to be her demise. If you have an elderly person in your family you owe it to them you and your children to purchase one of these for your parents health and longevity!

If you are short it can be difficult to find a good height for your chair and desk to the pedals.

I am about 5′ 2″ and I had a very difficult time finding a good height at my work desk to effectively pedal. I tried almost every height I could think of for my work chair and had trouble. I have an adjustable height work desk and the lowest it goes is 69′ I need it to go about 65′ to really work with the under desk bike so that I could effectively pedal.

Love that I can exercise my arms too!!

I am handicapped and need ways to get some cardio and exercise. My large recumbent bike was OK but didn’t exactly fit my body and leg length. This has provided a shorter, more fitting radius for my legs, allows me to sit in more comfortable chairs, and now gives me arm exercises as well. Absolutely love it. Only thing to be wary of is the weight if you have problems lifting. Not a problem for me, but some people may have problems with it I’m sure.

Easy to move, convenient to have, but not that much resistance progress at lower levels

Very convenient to have and easy to move around. But the resistance levels between 0 and 4 don’t have that much of a difference? It seems sometimes like I have to reset the resistance to 0 and then bring it back up to 4 to feel any difference. Still, I like it because I can just pedal easily while following along with bike-ride videos. And even with the resistance issue, I can still get quite a workout.

For a 71 year old man, this under desk cycle is perfect.

Unit was easy to assemble and the labeling of the left and right peddles was clear. They’re not meant to be interchangeable due to the different thread direction to prevent them from unscrewing during use. I suggest using actual wrenches vice the small tools provided, especially if you don’t have good arm strength. The unit is solidly made. I was impressed with the in-use stability. The digital readout is easy to read and shows speed (miles per hour) and cumulative distance ‘traveled’.

Not what I thought it would be

As far working, yeah it does. I received it dirty and the box was tore down and it wasn’t packed very well. It was missing part of its packing so even if I wanted to return it I couldn’t. But like I said it works so that’s all that matters.

I use this device as physical therapy from extensive knee surgeries. It is totally silent & works as advertised. Intelligently engineered & the on-board digital tracking is totally user friendly. Well worth the investment.

    So far so good!

Keyword points:Quiet, sturdy, easy to use, fairly easy to put together, smooth, good tension differencesWhy I got this:Since the outbreak of COVID, I’ve been primarily working from home. I am at my computer desk for about 12 hours a day, 7 days a week (work and video games). My step count is laughable. In June of this year, I had a heart attack (MI) due to blood clots from a kidney stone. It scared me.I had always thought these under-desk exercise machines weren’t really all that much “exercise” as they seemed too low-impact. After the heart attack, I reevaluated my stance and realized that while they may not help me shed any weight or gain any lean mass, they will help my leg circulation. Due to the MI, I wanted to work on my overall health and this seems to be a great means of doing so while I’m at my desk.Ease of assembly:Pretty easy. It’s not like ‘take out of the box and use’ easy, but there are only a few parts to put together and the instructions are very VERY clear. It took me about 20 minutes total from unboxing to using. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for “Easy to assemble” only because if you’re planning on using this for PT with your arms, it may be a bit of a challenge to get all the bolts tightened enoughEase of use:SUPER easy. The only issue I had after putting it together was that I could not change the settings and it wouldn’t calculate my rotation/distance. I had taken out the plastic strap and the display was on, but there was no functionality to the display as far as options or seeing use. I followed the directions to replace the battery (this is probably the most difficult part of the entire machine) and now it works perfectly. I’m assuming the battery that came with it may have been old/not so full of juice, but whatever the case, they do send a second battery and it works fine.Turning the tension knob is easy and the pedals move exactly as expected. The machine doesn’t slide on my carpet when in use unless I’m meaning to slide it. It has good enough traction that I don’t worry about it moving while I’m using it.Other notes:This is very quiet. The nosiest part of it was that I could hear my pants leg rustle against my chair.Comfortable. I was worried that the angle I’d need to put my legs to use this would be awkward while sitting in my desk chair. This is not the case. I used to have a footrest under my desk, and this has replaced it entirely because it is very comfy and the height is perfect. It doesn’t take up a ton of space, it’s barely bigger than my footrest, not too high, and not too wide. The packaging was easy to open and the machine easy to take out. Each part was clearly marked. Even the pedals had little removable tags on them to remind you exactly how to attach them! The instructions were perfectly clear, not once did I have to guess what they meant by something or try to figure something out myself. Each step was outlined, there were diagrams, and all needed tools came with the product.Would I buy it again?:Yes, I would. I did get the warranty on it to be on the safe side (10% of the purchase price, so just under $10), but so far, this thing seems to be exactly what I had hoped it would be.I have not had this for too long, and if my stance on this product changes, I will update this review.

    Keeps sliding but works well

I want to give this more stars but it’s frustrating that it slides around because you have to pedal out in front of you which keeps pushing it away.TIP: I actually found it works better by turning it around and pedaling down over it but then you cannot see the computer. Not the best resistance but works well to move arms or legs and it will wear you out! I like to be able to pedal while sitting for long periods of time at computer and working. It’s pretty easy to assemble just not clear instructions. I also like how portable it is with the handle on top.

    Easy to use..

Built like a tank. Heavy enough so that it doesn’t flip over. Quality item which should last a long time and not wear out. Provides enough resistance for a good work out. Would buy again. Plus, if you had any problems the company is right there to help.

Easy to assemble, quiet and a great way to get low impact exercise

I was finding it hard to get in exercise during the day, and find something that was aerobic while I healed an ankle issue. This fits the bill perfectly. Easy to put together, quiet and perfect for the living room or home office. The handle makes it easy to carry from room to room

    Dead on Arrival

I was able to easily complete the instructions up to the left pedal. Unlike with the nut for the right pedal, the nut on the left pedal came pre-tightened all the way to the plastic thread so I had to use one of the spanners to remove it off the pedal. Unfortunately, that caused the threads to no longer line up when I went to attach the left pedal to the left crank. It was essentially dead on arrival since I have no way to attach it correctly and it wasn’t even something I did.Edit: With some ingenuity, I was able to fix it. Hopefully, it won’t cause issues down the road. The equipment seems sufficient for my needs. I wish it had more resistance though. For some reason, it started on the highest resistance so I was surprised to see I couldn’t turn it up any more.

A must have for desk job

I went from floor nursing, walking miles a day, to a telephonic phone nursing position where I’m sitting in a chair for essentially 8 hours a day. My legs would hurt from dangling all day in the chair. I needed something to help keep me moving, since I’m so used to waking. This was definitely my answer!I was a little hesitant at first based on the reviews about the pedals stripping and essentially becoming useless after a couple months of use. And I’ve only had this for 5 days so far. So I’m hopeful that the pedals hold up. If not, I’ll change my review. The display starts up when you start pedaling and shuts off after 4-5 minutes of no activity. No need to take the battery out. The pics above show what I did on my first day using it sporadically over 8 hours. It has a distance counter which is nice. The calorie counter seems to count a little less than my Apple Watch, but it is still a great counter for those that don’t have a smart watch. It said I burned 688 calories, while my watch said 753. The counter seems to be based on average, while my watch uses my heart rate. Yesterday I did 32 miles and burned over 800 cals.I do wish that this had a higher tension setting. I would say I’m in good shape, and I’m on the highest tension of 8. But I also know that this isn’t meant to replace a strenuous cardio workout. My heart rate ranges from 100-110’s but if I’m consistently pedaling for 30 mins or more, it will get up to 130’s and you can feel the sweat. Also, I can definitely feel the inner thigh burn.Setup was fairly easy. 10-15 mins max. You really only have to assemble the end plate, front stabilizer, and pedals. I do think the pedals were the hardest part. You screw them in, which was easy enough. But putting the bolts on the back was challenging. Sounds easy until you go to do it. They give you very detailed instructions and even warn that if you don’t put the pedals on correctly, it can harm the product. It seems I put them on right, so I hope it holds up with how much I use it.It does have a carrying handle and would be easy to move around the house. If you are thinking about lugging this back and forth to work, I would probably just get one for each location. It does create a little bit of sound, but mostly a hum. I use mine in between patient calls so I can’t tell you for sure if this hum would be audible on a phone call. I work from home, but I do think it’s quiet enough to not disrupt your office mates.I heard a click today and was worried it was the product but nope! It was my knee. So I’m taking a break. It is addicting and I can see how easy it would be to overwork yourself on this. You can apparently use for your arms, but I haven’t done that just yet.I was considering the deskcycle, but wasn’t sure how committed I would be to using a pedaler so I went with this option since it’s cheaper at $120 vs $190. So far I’m very happy with this option. As I said, I’ve only had 5 days so I will update if it starts making noise, pedals start stripping, or what have you. This product seems to be used a lot by the elderly or people who have had joint replacements and I can see it being great for that use as well. Very multifunctional for people of all different activity levels.

Good value and convenient for use by hands or feet.

I purchased this for my elderly mother as recommended by her Dr. So far we are both pleased with it’s ease of use and the flexibility of use. It’s light and compact enough that it can easily be put on a table for exercising arms but is sturdy enough when on the floow for leg use – if only needed for the legs I would suggest the model with full foot rests as opposed to the pedals on this unit.

    Great, comfortable way to exercise

I’ve been basically sedentary since I started working from home in 2021, and it’s been so hard to work up the motivation to exercise more than once or twice a week. I purchased this recently and it’s a game changer, I can easily do at least two hours at a pretty decent speed and I’ve already lost three pounds. My only critique is I wish the resistance level could go higher, the highest setting is barely a challenge for me and I could use a higher setting just to strengthen the muscles around my knees.Otherwise, it’s a great product. It doesn’t shift on carpet at all, this was the lowest height I could find since I have a pretty low deal and I have to scoot my chair back so my knees don’t hit my desk, but it’s still possible to type this way. It’s also pretty quiet, your air conditioner is probably going to be louder. I fully recommend this product if you’re looking to be more active in your deal job.

    Smooth pedaling

Got this for my wife, who spends a lot of time at the PC. As a machine with magnetic tension, it is very smooth. She likes it. She is using an older desk, and it really doesn’t let her pedal under the desk.Assembling: one of the blots was threaded wrong on the pedal when I got it. Was able to fix. Also, the tools they send are thin and painful to use. I used my own shop tools, which made assembly easier.

    Good/Useful

The media could not be loaded.

It fits under my desk. I find this useful because I can bike for hours on setting 5 (out of 8max) without getting tired. The most important is that my feet are not cold anymore. It seems sturdy and not very difficult to figure out how to use. It comes with the manual. The delivery was fast and the description was accurate. It is not moving much while biking, even on the faste speed.

Solid build, great for low-impact exercise

As a senior, I didn’t want such a heavy piece of equipment (19 lbs), however, when I saw this in the Warehouse for a huge discount, I decided to try it. The description said “like new” and it would arrive in original packaging…one star off for that mistake. It arrived in a pool equipment box, wrapped in bubble wrap and fully assembled. The pedal straps and manual were missing, but I don’t need those. The front stabilizer was installed upside down causing slipping on the floor. Once I corrected that, it holds fairly well when pedaling. It’s very quiet and so smooth. The resistance is fine for my use. I believe this will be good exercise post knee replacement.

Nice and quiet when using. Seems to work well. Only 1 pedal strap received and no tool included. Not easy to attach pedals because of location.

    Heavy worth every penny

I bought the because a coworker, who is also military with a desk, job suggested it for an easy extra calorie burn. It’s an easy assembly, took maybe 15 minutes to put together. Tried it out at 8 tention and pedaled equal to walking pace. Burns about 2 to 3 calories a minute. My only gripe would be the tension. I would like it to have more resistance than it currently holds.

    Discovered some quality control issues

I bought one as an amazon warehouse deal. I do tend to return stuff sometimes so I also buy returned stuff whenever it looks like a good deal.It did not really have any cosmetic issues as described but was missing one lock nut from the package for the right pedal which is no big deal and manufacture will send replacement. The main issue I discovered is: The resistance did not seem to be what it should be and upon closer inspection; I discovered that magnetic brake just wasn’t really set up properly. The pivot point weld was just a little bit off so curvature of magnets was not square with curvature of flywheel so there was a pretty big gap there.Magnetic brake was way out of adjustment in several key areas so maximum resistance was not what it should be so I did have to fine tune this device.1. Magnetic brake arm needed to be bent near weld so curvature of arm would match curvature of flywheel.2. Stop screw needed to be adjusted so magnet is as close to flywheel as possible.3. Cable had to be adjusted so brake lever reaches stop screw for best braking.4. Flywheel had a slight high spot defect in the aluminum sheath that needed to be filed down a little bit. After these fine tuning adjustments (see image) the resistance is now MUCH better. :)But of course; the end user should not have to become a service technician who has to repair this device right out of the box like I did.Every single unit SHOULD be subjected to proper quality control to ensure each unit is properly assembled and adjusted for best performance.Especially so when it comes to proper braking resistance for such a compact exercise device for the largest muscles in the body.Kindest regards; Scorch.

Awesome little machine…just recommend possibly upgrading the grips

Purchased this machine to do some kind of movement while watching tv, using the computer, etc. Decided on this one since it can also be used for arm workouts. I really like that the tension can be adjusted and it’s perfect for my arms but wish it would go a little higher for my legs. My only gripe about this machine is that it does not have good grip on tile so it slides when doing leg workouts and I found myself pulling it back towards me every couple of rotations. I do my arm workouts on the counter which is also a smooth surface and it slides a little bit but nothing to complain about. Out of the box I recommend using it on carpet for leg workouts since it doesn’t slide at all. Bought some non-slip furniture pads for another project and decided to try them on this. Now the grip is way better on tile. It will wiggle a little bit but it doesn’t slide like before. If you have problems with it sliding I highly recommended upgrading the grips. I removed the rubber feet (they just slide off) and peeled off the foam pads then cut to size some non-slip slip furniture pads and stuck them on. After cutting I had extra pieces so stuck them on for good measure.

Very pleased with product for price. I was a little tricky for me to put together by myself, but hubby had total knee replacement and dr recommended a bike. This is great to exercise while watching TV.

    Wish it had more resistance

Got here this afternoon, been using it since. Assembly is very straight forward. I added some blue Loctite on the threads so it doesn’t back out with use. It’s similar to the $200+ portable machines bolted to the floor I’ve used in the gym, but at a fraction’s of the cost.I wish it had more resistance. Levels 1-5 has the same resistance, which is none at all. Level 6 & 7 are a bit stronger, but not much difference. And level 8 feels like a the medium mode on a hybrid bike, or mode 2 on a Citi Bike, riding on flat ground.Only reason I did 4 stars instead of 3, is because it at least give me a bit of exercise while working from home. Better than sitting in front of my pc all week and rarely stepping a foot out my front door except on weekends. Also it doesn’t need to be plugged in and I can move it anywhere I want.

    Great!

I just got this yesterday and I am already loving it! I work from home 10 hours/day 5 days a week so I wasn’t very active during the day. I am able to get my heart rate up while I’m working! It was very easy to put together and is very quiet! I do have it on carpet so I have no issues with it slipping nor issues with my castered chair moving. I am 5’4″ and my legs do bump the desktop, but not so much that I can’t use this. Highly recommend so far!

this exercise pedal is very quite .

I really find this relaxing to pedal for 10 minutes per day. working my way up to 20 minutes per day.Easy to move around if need be. It is better to use it on a rug – because it does not move around.I have used it on tile and it does seem to move a slightly.

    Perfect addition to working

The days that I use this when I’m stuck at my desk more often than usual, I feel great. I keep it at a medium resistance and add ankle weights if I want to work myself a little more.

    Works well

This works well for my elderly mother . It is solid and stays put on carpet. It has a nice smooth movement. She uses her walker to get to a padded folding chair that sits above it. It is heavy but that is needed for good traction.

    Comprehensive feedback on digital display.

Liked adjustable tension. Does not slide on the floor, quiet, & well built. This is the one to get. I have hip muscle pain. .

    Elderly Use for Mobility

We purchased this for my 87 year old father to keep circulation in his legs. He uses it daily and it has been great. He uses a sort of stand alone chair. (no wheels, no arms on the chair). It is a little heavy and he needed assistance to put it together, but it’s not super heavy – just heavy depending on how much mobility you have. Like I said, he’s 87, and it was helpful to just set it up on a dedicated spot. It’s best if you can put it somewhere out of the way and use it and not have to move it around, if you can’t move it well yourself. If you have someone that can move it around for you, it’s lightweight and can be easily moved – but for the type of use it might be used for, it may be best in a dedicated area so you don’t have to move it all the time.If the weight is not so much of an issue, it can easily be moved in and out of a space to use it.

    Best option for the price.

I looked at a few options that hovered around the 100$ price point, and this seemed the best one. It can be used wearing socks and fits under my desk easily enough. The toughest resistance leaves slightly more to be desired, but can’t really complain due to the cost and alternatives in said range. If you want to have an under desk exercise peddler to use to get nice short or moderate bursts of cardio in while watching videos or such, this is a great option.

Good for ‘all day home’ ppl

The media could not be loaded.

It’s way better quality than i expected, but the maximum tension is not enough heavy to me.

Easy to get a routine going

The left pedal has cross-threading issues, so keep the tools handy nearby. After re-doing it once, it seems to be staying. I really like the portability, and got the mat, also to go under it. The ease of portability and the device itself are absolutely wonderful! It is very easy to incorporate this device for a home exercise program, to get you started in the morning or anytime. Love it!!
