Sticky residue
The container came wrapped in clear packing tape to keep the lid on. When the tape was removed it left a 2″ wide sticky mess on the sides and bottom of the container. I tried soaking in hot soapy water, I tried vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, and finally goop off to get the residue off… unfortunately that also took the red markings off the side of the container.

Love these to marinade our beef and chicken in these
Love these to marinade our beef and chicken in these! I meal prep twice a week for my husband and I and these are super convenient for tossing a few pounds of meat into to let it all soak for a few hours. Also, have another one I use for oat flour storage. Keeps the flour fresh and makes it so much easier to scoop out for recipes. Very easy to clean and takes very little space in our pantry.

Great product
Love these. An absolute game changer in my baking. The only complaint I have is that the lids had some flaking of red plastic the ended up in my flour. I supposed a good scrubbing with a stiff sponge or scrubber would resolve this.

Not air tight
I had bought some that look similar but are air tight. This one is made from a different material and does not have an air tight lid. I am glad I only bought 1. They are great if you do not need the air tight seal.

I need to buy more of these.
This has become a staple in the kitchen. It’s almost always in use. So glad I bought it. Plan on buying more in the future in different sizes for different types of food storage. I wash it by hand. Never put it in the dishwasher. It’s kept its shape. No problems with the lid, etc.

Would not order this again
I like the base of the cambro and it appears durable. However, the white top (NOT red as it appeared in the photo) has what appears to be a crack along the rim which looks like it will split in time. I’m disappointed but don’t have the time to return this piece.

Made in the USA.
I purchased for use as a sous vide tub because I wanted a smaller container. I cut a hole in the lid and it works great. I looked for some time and would have purchased this one sooner if I knew it was made in the USA. The quality of this item was extraordinary.

Has BPA 🙁
Looked for food safe products – BPA is NOT food safe. Disappointed. Seems like a good shape/size otherwise – but really shouldn’t be labeled for food.

Cambro does it again
I’ve been using Cambro for decades and they’ve done it again. As others have said, this is the perfect size for doing your bulk rise for sourdough. For reference purposes, I use 1000 grams of flour per batch making two loaves. This size works perfectly for 1-2 of those 1000 gram batches and the handy markings on the side are the perfect way to watch your volume increase. The sturdy container takes a lot of abuse. I dropped mine twice already and all it did was bounce, which is pretty remarkable for a hard plastic container. No cracks, chips or scratches. These are also nestable with each successive nested container adding about 2″ to the height of the stack.Dough easily tumbles out of it with a bit of tug from a bench-scraper. It washes up very cleanly and easily. While the top isn’t airproof, I end up with no skinning on the dough, even with a 5 hour proof. The lid fits snug but not tight and getting it on and off with one hand isn’t a problem. This however would not be a lid suitable for transporting thin broth soups. I’d happily do a clam chowder or one that was packed with veg and pasta, but not like a chicken broth.I’ve also used mine as a salad mix and transport container. It has just enough venting to keep salads fresh for a couple of days, holds enough salad or coleslaw for a massive party, and it looks pretty impressive. Not table-ready of course, but for transport, this is the perfect size for hauling food to a family reunion, church event, or if you are doing any catering.I’ve got 5 Cambros of various sizes and have used them for years both personally and for events. I’ve never had a problem with any of them.

Perfect size for artisan bread making
I use this because I’m trying the “Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day” recipe. I make up a 2-loaf batch, then put it in the fridge for up to two weeks. Perfect for me, because I can make a loaf and then another when I’m ready to. (Or rolls, or whatever… it’s a versatile, easy dough.) The family loves having freshly made bread. Size-wise, it fits nicely into my small fridge. I like the square, squat size instead of a round, taller container. I could probably fit 3 loaves worth but haven’t tried it yet.I try to include price/value info in my reviews. Bought this 6-qt container for $26.98. Unlike many others, it comes with a lid so I didn’t have to purchase one separately, which, to me, means value. Highly recommend.

Great for bread making!
This tub is the perfect size for home bread making — when making most breads at home, you need something to hold enough dough for two loaves of bread, and this works great. After mixing the dough, it comes to about 1.5qts, and even tripled in size only goes up to about the 4.5qt rim around the bucket. Some recipes might call for a huge 12qt bucket but that’s overkill; 6qts is just the right size. One minor issue: the lid is solid red plastic, but the polycarbonate container is a harder plastic with sharp edges, so if you put the lid on firmly and then take it off, the container edges can scrape a bit of the lid plastic off and it could fall into the container. Just be careful when removing the lid and you’ll be fine (when I’m letting doughs rise, I typically just lay the lid on top without snapping it into place, and this helps).

Use for flour and sugar — opening wide enough to scoop directly out of!
I’ve been looking for a container that’s wide enough to scoop out of, and then scrap off the top of the measuring spoon **without spilling flour/sugar everywhere**. Plus, big enough to hold an entire bag of flour or sugar — this one fits the bill!! I love them! This will make cooking with the nephew/niece so much easier and cleaner!

That tape, that freaking cheap tape destroys the aesthetics of the container.
The container itself is incredibly sturdy and super useful. I bought the clear one because I like to see my sourdough rising but unfortunately the person who packed mine as well as another reviewer’s container used tape to keep the lid on(totally unnecessary in my opinion since this is an excellent product)and it cant be removed in one piece. The tape has this freaking annoying glue and as u trie to peel it, it breaks leaving tiny pieces of tape and glue. One side the tape dissolved the paint markings and it looks aweful. It is not Cambrio’s fault, it is totally the packer and the awful tape. It doesn’t come off and my clear container looks disgusting instead of shiny and clear.

Better Than Plastic Tupperware
Not only are these great for storing large batches of food, but they won’t stain like plastic does, so you can put things like marinara in them over and over and they wash out perfectly fine. Comes in a bunch of different sizes too, extremely convenient.

A purchase you won’t regret!
Absolute BEST flour container I have ever had. Was directed to this container by America’s Test Kitchen, a source I trust implicitly. Easy to get flour in and out of to bake/cook/constantly feed sourdough starter with. Great to access flour to aerate before measurement. Easy to clean. Easy to close with an airtight seal. Highly, HIGHLY recommended. Worth every penny. I plan to purchase others in the future for other uses when space allows.

Perfect for ice water bath blanched veggies or hard boiled eggs
Besides storing dry goods, this container is perfect for making an ice bath for cooling blanched vegetables prior to freezing or cooking, or cooling hard boiled eggs so that the shell easily separates from the egg without taking some of the white with the shell. Also, perfect for soaking hard beans over night (red, black, et cetera) prior to cooking. Enjoy.

Not so food safe
Great looking container, just the size I was searching for. advertised as “Food safe”. Large sticker on container says it contains BPH a known cancer causing material. Ironically the warning label is by the state of California, the container is made in USA and Cambro company is in Huntington California.

Must have for at-home bakers!
I blame the GBBS for this fabulous impulse purchase, and I have zero regrets. Recently, my husband has taken to bread baking … more accurately, he enjoys experimenting with yeast-based weaponry (I’m pretty sure bread shouldn’t crack tiles when dropped.)On a whim, I got him this after seeing so many of my favorite personalities on the GBBS use it for proofing bread. I’m not going to claim it magically made his bread better, but it kinda did. Now he gets a lovely rise in the shape he prefers for quick breads.

The Lid Sheds Plastic Shards
I’ve owned and used these containers for about three years now. Durability: Great. Overall utility: Great. I’m just getting tired of finding little pieces of red plastic in my dry goods. The red plastic lid keeps shedding little shards of plastic. Makes me wonder how many I’ve swallowed. I’m going to try taking them out to the garage and sanding them with some super fine grit sandpaper, but I shouldn’t have to do that. Other than this issue, I really like these containers…I just don’t trust them.
